The departure. Eungam Station, in Seoul's Eunpyeong district, where I lived for thirty-one years. Despite the name, a cup of bright citrus acidity.
Not a dark roast. Eungam is a City roast with bright citrus acidity, correcting a common misreading of the name.
The arrival. A cup of thanks for the people — the bonds (縁) — met in Sapporo. Clear and tea-like, with a long, gentle finish.
From Eungam to Sapporo. Gently, it arrives.
이르다 (iruda) means to arrive, to reach. I grew up in the alleys of Eungam-dong, Seoul, and at the end of a long road, arrived at the snow of Sapporo.
Three names carry that distance — Arong, Eungam, Inyeon. Coffee is a way to gently reach the one who opens the bag.
